Question by Ancel: I’m so tired with Filipinos calling?
themselves “PACIFIC ISLANDER” ! Why do they do this ? Just because the Philippines is an island in the Pacific doesn’t mean you’re Pacific Islander, you don’t see the Japanese people calling themselves “Pacific Islanders” do you ? The REAL Pacific Islanders are from Melanesia, Micronesia, and Polynesia.

Melanesia: New Guinea, New Caledonia, Torres Strait Islands, Vanuatu, Fiji, Solomon Islands

Micronesia: Mariana Islands, Guam, Wake Island, Palau, Marshall Islands, Kiribati, Nauru, Federated States of Micronesia

Polynesia: New Zealand, Hawaiian Islands, Rotuma, Midway Atoll, Samoa, American Samoa, Tonga, Tuvalu, Cook Islands, French Polynesia, Easter Island.

To be a Pacific Islander, your country has to be lying south of the tropic of cancer (excluding Australia) ! The Philippines ARE NOT !

Even Wikipedia states reasons why Filipinos ARE NOT “Pacific Islander”

Why do you insist on calling yourselves that ? Is it because you want to be unique ? Do you not like Asians ? You don’t want to be associated with the “Asians’ have small p*****” stereotype ? You don’t want to be associated with the “All Asians’ are smart” stereotype ? What’s your reason ?

What’s so wrong with being asian anyways ?

Every time a Filipino is called “Asian” they get extremely defensive and aggressive and insist on being classified as “Pacific Islander”
well guess what you’re not !

Who started this stuff anyways ?
Plus the Philippines participate in the Southeast ASIAN games instead of the South Pacific Game of Oceania !

&I’m not talking about the fusion with Spanish &African ancestry.

I think they don’t want to be Asian, every Filipino I ever met wanted to be white.

Maybe so: The restaurant is not far from the country estate they are calling home while Pitt movie, 'World War Z', and it is very popular with Scottish soccer squad members, who live in the area, the restaurant manager …
