The Dunes at Maui Lani Golf Course, Hole No. 5a

The Dunes at Maui Lani Golf Course, Hole No. 5, shot ‘a,’ features a pond that guards the front-left, back, and runs all the way along the fairway along the left. The smart play is a hybrid or iron from the tee to avoid the water, and an approach that is toward the green’s right side–away from the water. Shot Velvia 50, Toyo 4×5, Nikon 210 f/16, 1/15th sec.

GREAT BLUE HERON: Generally solitary and nocturnal, the Great Blue Heron hunts fish and other animals while wading slowly in the quiet waters of marshes, lakes, shores and the deadwood swamp to the right of the tee. A lean, blue-gray bird with long legs, a long neck and a daggerlike bill, it may stand as high as four feet tall. Its voice is a series of deep harsh croaks… "frahnk, frahnk, frahnk".

New Disc Golf Course–Ching!

The University of Utah has put in a new disc golf course! Here Catinlap demonstrates how to make a medium range putt with skyline in the background. The smoke over the city really is smoke rather than smog. There are several wildfires burning at the moment.

15/07/2007 (Day 227) – Crazy Golf

Inspired by this picture in Christy9799′s stream, we went to our local crazy golf course this afternoon just so that I could do some self-portraits. This was the best of the batch.

Oh, and I won the game as well. By miles. Winnnneeeerrr!

Do you want to strangle people who yell “get in the hole” as much as I want to?

Question by gimpyshake: Do you want to strangle people who yell “get in the hole” as much as I want to?
I want to strangle people who utter this at any point, but in particular when a golfer tees off on a par 4 or 5.

The entire point of the game is to get the ball into the hole. Having some fat jacka$ $ yelling it everytime someone strikes a ball doesn’t make the game any more clear.

It’s not like the golfers are thinking “oh!, that tubby bastard over there makes a good point, I wasn’t quite sure what I was suppossed to be trying to do, now I understand.”

I think golf “etiquette” should say that if anyone ever yells “get in the hole” anyone within shouting distance should then try to strike that person in the head with any club they wish.
